Russell D. Van Zandt is a Medical Device Industry executive with over 20 years of domestic and international experience as President, focusing on cardiac rhythm management, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology and respiratory care.  He has demonstrated strong leadership in established public companies, intermediate stage development companies as well as start-ups, late stage start-ups, business turn-arounds and growth oriented medical device companies.  His track record shows outstanding results in sales growth, market share growth, product development, venture capital structures, strategic planning and implementation, international growth and integration, manufacturing cost reduction and regulatory strategies.

 

Born in New York City, Van Zandt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from St. Michael’s College, Vermont,a Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University, completed course work for a Doctor of Business Administration at George Washington University, Washington D C, as well as post graduate work at the University of Western Ontario and York University both in Canada.  He was an Adjunct Professor of Business at Fairliegh Dickinson University and also served as an officer in the United States Air Force.

 

Prior to his General Management experiences in the Medical Device field Van Zandt had experience in Human Resources, Manufacturing, Government Affairs, Sales and Marketing.

Van Zandt’s career includes 23 years with C. R. Bard Inc. where he was President of Bard Canada Inc., Bard Electro Medical Systems and Bard Vascular Systems.  His six years with Datascope include responsibilities as President of Cardiac Assist and Inter Vascular.  He has also been President and CEO of Cardio Logic Systems, Inc, Life Recovery Systems, and ELA Medical Inc.

Van Zandt is currently on the Advisory Board of Directors of Life Recovery Systems, The Next Phase Consultancy and Veridien Corporation (Chairman since 1999) he has also actively worked with the Health Industry Manufacturers Association (now AdvaMed) over the past several years.  He is also on the Advisory Board of Medical Strategies International.  He is a regular contributor to Boomers Rock an internet radio program and is a Mentor and Counselor with SCORE as well as a Chairman for Vistage of Florida.  Van Zandt also is the principle of several internet marketing web sites under the name of Papa Van.
