Jaime Armstrong is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a graduate of the University of South Florida where she received her Masters in Counselor Education.  She is also a Certified Practitioner in Clinical Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution.  Jaime has vast experience and knowledge working throughout the state of Florida with adults, children, and adolescents who had diagnoses of Substance Abuse and Dependence, Major Depression, Dysthymic Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

She commands an excellent knowledge base and her clinical skills are executed with confidence, which collectively makes her interventions effective for individual, group, and family therapy.   Jaime relates well with her clients, is comfortable utilizing confrontation (addressing what is not being addressed), is able to work with a diverse client population, and is capable of providing therapeutic boundaries to not only maintain professional distance, but to create a therapeutic relationship which enables her clients to feel safe and to explore more sensitive issues without the pain of reliving those experiences. 

She is eager and comfortable in applying cognitive behavioral, psychodrama, hypnosis with rapid trauma resolution, motivational interviewing, and social skills training techniques while treating clients. Jaime has worked closely with adolescents and their families in schools, Day Treatment facilities, and in Department of Juvenile Justice residential programs.  She was also part of an initial research study in which a new model of Family Therapy was founded, known as the Broward Model of Therapy.  In addition to her therapeutic services she is a certified peer reviewer for the state of Florida to assist with Quality Assurance audits within the Department of Juvenile Justice.  She also is an investigator for the Hillsborough County Office of Social Investigation and Studies
